A leather belt with a serrated silhouette that fastens and adjusts without the need for a buckle. Crafted from a single piece of die-cut leather, it eliminates metallic components, making it unnecessary to remove during airport security checks, thus speeding up the process.
The monomaterial belt project was born from a collaboration between the Italian design studio of Giulio Iacchetti and the historic Japanese bag and accessory manufacturer Yamamoto, under its Montbook brand.
A connection between cultures, know-how, and creativity is therefore the first theme embodied by this product. However, connection is also understood as mobility, an essential factor in our current and future lives. Low-cost airlines have made travel accessible and possible worldwide, fostering encounters, dialogue, relationships, and exchanges.
Simplifying and speeding up travel has become important, while respecting security regulations that require precise and specific checks at airports. This mandatory step during baggage screening inspired the creation of a monomaterial belt, unique and elegant like leather, which does not need to be removed and thus makes the passage smoother and more efficient.
